Kangwon National University (KNU)<\/strong> held the ‘2025 Blood Donation Relay Closing Ceremony’<\/strong> at the Cheonji Hall Performance Room on the Chuncheon Campus on the 15th, sharing the achievements of student participation in blood donation throughout the year. The event was prepared to reflect on the efforts of students who spread a culture of life-sharing within the campus through voluntary blood donation and to confirm the community’s social responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ceremony was attended by Kim Dae-hyun, Dean of Student Affairs, Park Jin-seong, Director of the Korean Red Cross Gangwon Blood Center, and representatives from the Student Council Emergency Response Committee, who encouraged the students involved in the blood donation activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the closing ceremony, the results of the year’s inter-campus blood donation competition by campus zones were announced. The ‘Jeongmun Alliance’<\/strong> team, an association of the College of Engineering, College of Social Sciences, College of Humanities, and IT College, recorded the highest participation rate and won the honor of the group blood donation championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the individual category, students Kim Kyung-seong (Mechatronics Engineering), Park Soo-hwan (Veterinary Medicine), and Lee Yoon-ha (Paper Science and Engineering) were selected as ‘Outstanding Blood Donors’<\/strong> based on their active participation. Additionally, the ‘Outstanding Student Blood Donor Award’<\/strong> was presented to six students who had consistently donated blood during their time at the university, sharing examples of life-sharing practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lim Hee-chan, Welfare Director of the KNU Student Council Emergency Response Committee, assessed that the students’ participation in blood donation significantly helped stabilize the regional blood supply and stated that the university would continue to lead the expansion of the blood donation culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n KNU explained that the student-led blood donation relay holds great significance as it has become a platform for communal solidarity and the practice of social values, going beyond simple volunteer work. During the event, 236 blood donation certificates<\/strong> collected by KNU students throughout the year were donated to the Korean Red Cross Gangwon Blood Center.
